Rules and Guidelines for Members of Australian Legends - South Australia

What is Unacceptable:

Flaming. Defined as personally attacking individual(s) or group(s). Example: "BorgQueen, you snivelling sack of crap." (Note that I didn't change the example where BQ flames himself )
Trolling. Defined as baiting individual(s) or group(s) into flaming them. Example : "There are too many tossers in this topic."
Swearing. Light occasional swearing (bloody, hell, shit etc) is fine and left unpunished. Continuous and heavy bloody swearing is not bloody well acceptable.
Racism. Defined as using any grouping term in a derogatory fashion. Examples: "the yanks are retarded". "Bunch of stupid niggers". Any use of this kind of language is unacceptable. "Avin' a lash at the poms" is fine.
Cheating. Defined as using any of the methods of playing chess deemed forbidden by chess.com. Using engines in any form where a game is in progress for example.
Accusations without proof. Defined as levelling any kind of accusation of bloody offensive behaviour without sufficient proof to back it up.
Posting offensive material. Defined as posting links to pornography, gruesome imagery or any kind of link or content that can cause shock or offense.
Failure to comply with admin requests to cease offensive behaviour. Defined as simply not doing as you are bloody well asked by an administrator.

Punitive Actions:

Action is at the discretion of administrators; this guide shows only the suggested course of action.
No action will be taken without proof. A member must be deemed 100% guilty before action will be taken.
No permanant group ejections (bans) will take place within 48 hours of a reported or discovered offense, giving administrators plenty of time to investigate the issue, collect evidence and make an assessment and a fair judgement.
No permanant group ejections (bans) will occur without the consensus of at least two members of the administrative body (especially now that we have at least two).
Temporary group ejections (suspensions) may be handed out very quickly should a member be on a spree of bloody offensive behaviour.
Wherever possible, administrators which are friends or foes of rule-violating members shall not take part in the judgement process.

Suggested Punishments

Cheating. Any member caught cheating will be bloody well reported to chess.com staff and be ejected from the group. No redemption can be made.

Posting offensive material. Instant ejection.

All other offenses will be met with the same action: An admin will ask/inisist that you cease the offensive behaviour. Please note the following:

Failure to comply with admin requests to cease offensive behaviour. Temporary ejection placed on the member until they either comply or decide that they cannot, in which case the ejection becomes permanent.

If you believe that an admin is being unfair, take it to the messaging system to another admin. Do NOT post about it on the forums or in the notes section. If all admins say essentially the same thing, you must accept it.

This rule-set is a guide only to provide all members with a good idea as to how to behave here. There are many other offenses that are not listed, but common sense applies.

We strongly suggest that the potentially inflammatory topics such as Religion and Politics be avoided in general forum and if they must be discussed they should have a separate thread of their own.
